Why we should all eat nuts on a weekly basis

We love using nuts in our products and for good reason. I guess we all know by now, nuts are beneficial for our health. But did you know that people who eat nuts everyday live longer? Daily nut consumers have fewer cancer deaths, heart disease deaths and fewer deaths from respiratory disease.

A common concern about nuts is the fats and calories they contain, but it appears we don’t have to fear this. Studies have found that nut consumption is associated with less weight gain and lower risks of obesity. If you combine your daily nuts with a healthy whole foods diet you shouldn’t worry about it!

What kind of nuts should we eat? Are they all equally healthy? Here you find a ranking of nuts from healthiest nut to least healthy:

  2. Walnuts
  3. Hazelnuts
  4. Pistachios
  5. Almonds
  6. Peanuts
  7. Cashews
  8. Macadamia
  9. Brazil nuts
  10. Pine nuts

Of course this doesn’t mean you can’t eat the nuts that are not top 5. Variation is always a good idea!
